Garden

My husband is really quite impressed with his gardening skills this week!

We took a cutting off our neighbours Frangipani when their house was being built, we literally just left it on the grass in our backyard for about a month, then he got an idea to just stick it in a pot of dirt......no preparation or anything. It honestly just looked like a large stick in a pot. So about 2 weeks ago, I noticed what looked like some greenery appearing, and then yesterday, we got this lovely surprise!! All from a stick shoved in a pot of dirt!

So now we are eyeing off spots in our backyard to plant it in the ground. Hopefully it will continue to grow and look gorgeous.

We were given this plant for christmas. It is in desperate need of a new pot, I'm thinking a charcoal coloured pot to sit on our deck to add a bit of greenery. Our backyard is seriously lacking in greenery at the moment.

Only problem is, I'm a bit scared of transplanting it for fear of killing it. We really aren't great gardeners, it is amazing that the roses in the front yard are still going strong despite being completely neglected for the majority of the year. (I actually hate them, and hope that my neglecting them will result in their demise....unfortunately they seem to thrive with a bit of neglect!!)

So I am planning to repot this plant next week, following a visit to Bunnings to gather some supplies. Hopefully my lack of a green thumb wont cause it any harm.

  1. LOL my roses thrive from neglect too... I'm similarly trying to kill them! I even let my husband 'prune' them with his chainsaw. They loved it and went bananas. Seriously.

    Hope the repotting goes well!
